When to choose it
Enchanting is a flexible second crafting profession when you want permanent ring benefits and can afford to level it. Match the ring enchant to your role: healing and spell damage are separate TBC bonuses. A generic attack-power or mana-regeneration ring bonus is not the recommendation here.
First investment and budget
Disenchanting unwanted equipment can supply materials, but always compare vendor value and auction prices. Expensive final skill points may outweigh a small early benefit. Prioritize the enchants your actual equipment needs before collecting every available formula.
TBC rules and availability
Ring enchants require the profession and suitable skill. Access to formulas can involve reputation or other requirements. Existing generic enchants from other players do not make you an Enchanter; distinguish self-only benefits from services available to any character.
