Restoration Druid in WoW TBC

Healer

Anticipate damage and keep healing running while you move.

Restoration relies heavily on healing over time. Lifebloom is central to many tank-healing assignments, while mobility and control make the class attractive in arena. A raid-healing build and an arena build have different priorities.

How Restoration Druid plays

Manage Lifebloom stacks and timing, use Rejuvenation and Regrowth appropriately, and reserve direct recovery tools for urgent damage. Heal-over-time effects need anticipation; they cannot always rescue a target already near death. Tree form also imposes tactical constraints.

Leveling a Restoration Druid

Feral or Balance is usually more comfortable for solo leveling. Restoration works well with a regular dungeon partner, but group availability varies by server and schedule. Build a damage set if you expect to quest alone frequently.

Restoration Druid in raids & PvP

Raid roles often emphasize sustained tank healing and support. Arena rewards movement, crowd control and maintaining healing while avoiding pressure. Compare Holy Priest for a broader direct group-healing toolkit or Restoration Shaman for Chain Heal and party totems.

Strengths

  • ✓Healing over time while moving
  • ✓Sustained tank support and arena mobility

Trade-offs

  • ✗Needs anticipation before heavy damage
  • ✗Solo leveling is slower in a healing build
