Frost Mage in WoW TBC
Control the approach, survive mistakes, and create room to cast.
Frost is a forgiving leveling choice and a strong PvP foundation. Slows, roots, defensive tools and a Water Elemental give you several ways to manage pressure. Its control identity is more important than promising the highest stationary raid damage.
How Frost Mage plays
Use Frostbolt pressure, roots and defensive cooldowns with a plan for diminishing returns and enemy dispels. Control the Water Elemental rather than leaving every decision to its default behavior. In dungeons, coordinate crowd control so allies do not immediately break it.
Leveling a Frost Mage
Learn single-target questing before attempting large area pulls. AoE leveling depends on terrain, enemy type and practice; it is not guaranteed to be faster for a newcomer. Polymorph and escape tools can make mistakes recoverable.
Frost Mage in raids & PvP
Frost is commonly chosen for arena control. Fire and Arcane are the more usual comparisons for maximizing raid damage. A lower PvE rating here reflects that trade-off, not an inability to clear dungeons or contribute to a casual group.
