When to choose it
Leatherworking can suit a planned raid party or a character using a particular leather or mail set. Ask whether the group expects drums and how it organizes their use. The benefit is party support in TBC, not a single drum covering all 25 raid members.
First investment and budget
Compare specialization-specific sets with obtainable dungeon equipment before committing. Leveling materials can be costly, and the optimal choice for one raid phase may be unnecessary for a casual dungeon character. Skinning makes a practical leveling partner, but two crafting professions require purchased or alt-supplied materials.
TBC rules and availability
TBC has no Wrath Fur Lining. Drums behavior and available recipes should be checked for the Anniversary rules and phase your group plays. Treat coordinated drums as a roster decision rather than a blanket requirement for every newcomer.
