Subtlety emphasizes stealth, mobility and control, especially in arena. Shadowstep supports pressure and positioning, while the toolkit rewards planned crowd-control sequences. This does not make it the default sustained raid damage specialization.
How Subtlety Rogue plays
Plan openers, interrupts, defensive cooldowns and combo-point use around what an opponent can answer. Blind, Sap and stuns require attention to diminishing returns and partner damage. A flashy opener is less useful if it leaves no way to survive the response.
Leveling a Subtlety Rogue
Combat is often a more direct leveling route. Subtlety can be enjoyable for world encounters and stealth-focused play, but repeated solo kills may be slower than a weapon-oriented Combat setup. Decide whether control or speed matters more to you.
Subtlety Rogue in raids & PvP
Arena success depends on teamwork and decision making, not only burst. Combat is the raid comparison; Assassination is the positional dagger comparison. Expect a higher learning workload if you choose Subtlety as your first character.
