Survival Hunter in WoW TBC
Turn agility into a raid contribution and make positioning count.
Survival is a raid utility damage specialization built around Expose Weakness. Its value depends on agility, physical damage dealers and whether another Hunter already supplies the debuff. It is not automatically the best Hunter spec for every arena bracket.
How Survival Hunter plays
Keep your ranged attacks and pet active while maintaining effective Expose Weakness coverage. Position safely and avoid sacrificing too much personal damage just to chase an isolated agility number. Traps and control remain useful outside stationary raid encounters.
Leveling a Survival Hunter
Beast Mastery is generally the smoother dedicated leveling route. Survival is reasonable if you particularly enjoy traps and positioning, but its defining raid benefit becomes more relevant with gear and a physical-heavy group.
Survival Hunter in raids & PvP
One Survival Hunter can improve the output of several physical attackers. Adding another does not duplicate the same raid benefit. Compare Beast Mastery for personal damage and Marksmanship for PvP control before deciding which job your group actually needs.

Gadgets pair perfectly with a trap-and-control kit; Leatherworking rounds it out with Drums and crafted mail gear.
