Feral Druid in WoW TBC
Accept two equipment plans and two jobs inside one specialization.
Feral can provide bear tanking and cat melee damage, but gear, talents and practice determine how well you switch jobs. Flexibility does not mean one equipment set maximizes both. Cat damage rewards precise energy and positioning decisions.
How Feral Druid plays
Bear play emphasizes threat, armor, health and positioning; emergency tools are more limited than a Warrior tank’s cooldown package. Cat play uses energy, combo points and positional attacks, with powershifting adding complexity. Start with one role before trying to optimize both simultaneously.
Leveling a Feral Druid
Feral is a practical solo leveling route, with useful movement and recovery options. You can tank suitable dungeons with appropriate gear and preparation. Tell the group which role you are equipped for rather than assuming shapeshifting alone makes you ready.
Feral Druid in raids & PvP
Feral can move between a tank assignment and cat damage when an encounter permits it. Restoration offers a different arena healing identity and Balance a caster support identity. Your raid slot depends on roster needs, not a promise of automatic invitations.
