These are role-specific crafting examples, not mandatory purchases. TBC gathering professions do not provide the later-expansion passive combat bonuses, but they can fund equipment and consumables. Crafting benefits differ by item, specialization, party and phase. Compare the purpose of each Rogue pairing below.
Choose professions for the job and budget
A weapon upgrade may be more urgent than finishing two expensive crafts. Leatherworking can supply selected equipment and party drums; Engineering adds situational utility with item restrictions. TBC Rogues cannot use axes, so an Orc recommendation cannot rely on axe specialization.
Start by pricing the exact crafted item, recipe and skill leveling. Compare reputation and dungeon alternatives and the likely replacement date. If you are still leveling or undecided about your raid role, keeping a gathering profession can be the better use of gold.
For arena, check the item’s restrictions and compare defensive equipment rather than copying a raid crafting list. Party support such as drums should be coordinated with the actual roster. A phase change can make a previously attractive craft less urgent.
