Warrior in WoW TBC

A rage-powered weapon fighter choosing tanking or melee damage.

The Warrior toolkit uses rage and plate equipment. Its talent choice, equipment and group assignment determine how it feels in practice. Compare a leveling plan separately from the build you intend to use in raids or arena.

Protection is a dedicated tank toolkit, Arms physical support and arena pressure, and Fury sustained dual-wield damage. Weapon quality and group support affect the leveling experience. If you want to tank, compare the workload and emergency tools with Paladin and Feral instead of selecting a tank by a damage ranking.

Warrior specializations

Which specialization fits your plans?

Protection is a dedicated tank toolkit, Arms physical support and arena pressure, and Fury sustained dual-wield damage. Weapon quality and group support affect the leveling experience. If you want to tank, compare the workload and emergency tools with Paladin and Feral instead of selecting a tank by a damage ranking.

Arms Warrior

A raid may want one Arms support slot; additional copies do not duplicate the Blood Frenzy benefit. Arena commonly values Mortal Strike pressure. Compare Fury for sustained dual-wield raid damage and Protection for a dedicated tanking role.

Fury Warrior

Fury suits players who enjoy sustained melee damage and investing in equipment. Arms is the clearer healing-reduction arena comparison and Protection the dedicated tank comparison. Raid desirability changes with roster, phase and encounter rather than one permanent tier letter.

Protection Warrior

Choose Warrior if active single-target control and emergency tools appeal to you. Compare Paladin for multi-target pulls and Feral for bear-to-cat flexibility. Dedicated tank specs have limited arena damage roles, so decide whether tanking or rated PvP is your main goal.
