How Marksmanship Hunter plays
Marksmanship is a precise shot-priority spec. You keep Hunter's Mark and Serpent Sting up, fire Aimed Shot and Chimera Shot on cooldown, and weave Steady Shot between auto-shots to fill the gaps without clipping. Rapid Fire and trinkets line up your burst windows. It rewards a smooth, rhythmic weave and careful mana and ammo management more than fast reactions.
Leveling a Marksmanship Hunter
Marksmanship levels well, but not quite as effortlessly as Beast Mastery — your pet is less durable, so you lean more on your own shots and on kiting dangerous mobs. Strong ranged burst means fast kills, but expect a little more downtime for mana and the occasional close call when a pull gets away from you.
Marksmanship Hunter in raids & PvP
In raids Marksmanship is the top Hunter spec — highest sustained damage plus Trueshot Aura, which buffs the attack power of every nearby physical DPS, with Misdirection to hand threat to the tank. In PvP its huge Aimed Shot burst and crowd control make it a dangerous ranged threat, though it is more exposed than the survival-focused build.
