Gold and budget

Server prices and material costs determine value. Compare completed sales and your own spending plan.

When to choose it

Jewelcrafting is useful if you want to supply gems or a particular crafted item. It is not the later-expansion three-Dragon’s-Eye bonus system. Evaluate individual TBC gems, unique-equipped limits and recipe availability before treating the profession as an automatic combat upgrade.

First investment and budget

The cut-gem market needs recipes, working capital and a realistic margin after buying uncut gems. Prospecting ore has variable outcomes. Start by pricing the cuts people on your server actually buy, and avoid assuming Jewelcrafting is always the most profitable profession.

TBC rules and availability

Epic gems and valuable patterns depend on progression and availability. Profession-exclusive items have their own requirements. Compare the actual item you can make today with a gem or trinket any player can buy, rather than adding a fictional flat stat bonus.
