Gold and budget

Server prices and material costs determine value. Compare completed sales and your own spending plan.

When to choose it

Blacksmithing is most persuasive when you can name the weapon or armor upgrade that justifies its cost. Arms, Fury and Enhancement have different weapon requirements. A tank should compare the actual crafted item with reputation and dungeon options instead of taking the profession merely because it makes plate.

First investment and budget

Plan specialization, upgrade materials and the likely replacement date together. Weapon projects can consume a large part of a newcomer’s gold. Mining during leveling is a practical funding route; later switching to a second crafting profession is optional, not a necessary first-day investment.

TBC rules and availability

TBC has no Eternal Belt Buckle profession benefit. Specializations and recipe progression restrict what you can craft. Your phase and existing weapon determine value more accurately than a profession ranking that assumes every recipe is immediately available.
