Feral is two specs wearing one body. In Bear Form you off-tank or even main-tank with strong mitigation; shift to Cat and you become a stealthy combo-point melee striker that can skip content other classes can't avoid. The form-swap itself is half the fun.

How Feral Druid plays

Feral is really two rotations. As Cat you open from stealth, build combo points with Mangle and Shred from behind the target, and spend them on Rip and Ferocious Bite while pooling energy — a busy, positional melee dance. As Bear you generate threat with Mangle, Maul and Swipe and manage Demoralizing Roar and Frenzied Regeneration. Switching forms mid-pull to cover whatever the group needs is the whole identity.

Leveling a Feral Druid

Feral is one of the best levelling specs in the game. Cat Form gives you speed, stealth and strong damage, so you skip past packs, gather quests and kill fast. If a fight goes wrong you shift to Bear and simply out-tank it. Almost zero downtime and no reliance on drinking to refill mana.

Feral Druid in raids & PvP

In raids Feral flexes between an off-tank (huge armor and health in Bear) and a Cat melee DPS that also debuffs the boss with Mangle for the other bleeds, and it brings Leader of the Pack for melee crit. In PvP, Cat burst plus bear-form escapes, Cyclone and roots make it a slippery, high-pressure duelist.
